I've not done much in 2014; I feel that I want to avoid the social scene for a while so I can get my breath back - I've already turned down one invite tonight after having a few nights out this week.

I spent New Years' Day with family; we ended up playing some Cluedo; I had a nice relaxed day and watched Sherlock in the evening.

This time a few years ago, I was regularly playing football after work on Fridays; now, it's becoming impossible to book it up because almost no one is free, hence we don't get a game. It's kind of sad, because after-work football used to be quite a regular occurrence. I'm trying again for next week, though.

Actually, this one didn't last too long but it was good fun while it lasted; there used to be this guy called Aaron who worked at my local pub who I got to actually know fairly well, at least in the sense that he recognised me when I came into the pub; it started when I mentioned that Liverpool had got a great win - it was after their amazing 4-1 ( Read more... )

Undoubtably Little Chef restaurants, which are common around the UK and are roughtly equivalent to Denny's in the US (which I also like); these restaurants seem to have been around all the time since I was a kid, but they seem to be dying out; I can think of many branches close to where I live which no longer exist - I used to be able to drive ( Read more... )
